Mahadev is one of the principal deities of Hinduism. He is also known as Shiva, Shankara and Bholenath. Mahadev is the God of Destruction and according to Indian Mythology Mahadev is the Supreme Lord who creates, protects and transforms the universe. The iconographical attributes of Mahadev are the serpent around his neck, the adorning crescent moon, the holy river Ganga flowing from his matted hair, the third eye on his forehead, the trishula or trident, as his weapon, and the damaru drum. Various depictions and aspects of Mahadeva worshipe widely in the South-East Asia Sub-Continent. Here in the painting tandava Dance of Shiva have been depicted.
